GDT Unik Hobby December

Hei!

Hi!
My GDT contribution for December at Unik Hobby, comes a bit late...but better late, than never, right?

I wanted to make something "new", and something that could be given away as a present.
Then I suddenly remembered that my grandfather tought me how to braid a basket of birch bark when I was a little girl - and then my project became a braided paper-basket :)

The image from Ladybug & Friends, is colured with Distress Ink refills, cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Ovals, and mounted as a tag on the basket with a gold ribbon.

The papers are from Ladybug & Friends as well, from the "Julefryd" Collection, and are called "Juleglede" and "Englesang". I've used the Martha Stewart - Edge Punch Doily Lace around the basket, and the new Deep Edge Punch Doily Lace as the handle.
I've embellished the laces with tiny brown pearls from Kort & Godt.

Around the basket, I've tied a dark red ribbon, made a bow, and fastened a beautiful angel-charm in it.

For a little bit more decoration, I've used white roses dabbed with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, and leaf punched out with a EKSuksess Punch, on the corners of the basket.

Hope you liked my basket - for now; filled with teabags!

Have a great day!
Hugs, Lena Katrine

Sketchy Colors Challenge #6 and Awards

Hi!
Another sunday has arrived, and we're ready with a new challenge at Sketchy Colors!!
This time we have a new sketch for you to play with - yey!
Please head over to the Sketchy Color blog, to check out this week's sketch at our Challenge #6, to take a peek at the new price sponsored by North Star Stamps, and of course to take a look at the rest of the DT's great work this sunday!

I've flipped the sketch a bit, and made a man's birthday card (for once - and boy, is that hard, or what?) for my  brother, Raymond, who's turning 32 years old today!!
The cool image I've used, is a stamp from NSS!

The image is coloured with Distress ink refills, and the edges are inked with Weathered Wood.
The patterned paper called "LEAH" is from Melissa Frances, and the cardstock are from Bazzill and Ladybug & Friends. The sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad AS on the front, says "Happy Birthday", and the sentiment inside and the "splat-stamp" are from Stempelglede.
I've used Spellbinders - Nesties Ovals and Long Squares to make the panels, and the quite simple embellishments remains of different buttons, brads and eyelets, some Tim Holtz methal-clips and -chain, and a charm from Unik Hobby.

Happy Birthday, "little" brother!

Table Frame

Long before christmas, I was asked to make something for a Advent Calender at a forum I'm a member of. The creation I had to make, had to be something that could be given away as a present, or something to go along with a present.
I decided to make a table-frame out of coasters :)

I've used  a Stampavie - Sarah Kay image, and painted it with Distress Ink refills. The papers are from Ladybug & friends Christmas Collection. For the embellishments, I've used perls from Kort & Godt, roses and rosebuds from Wild Orchid Crafts, snowflakes from a Martha Stewart punch, charms from Unik Hobby, some turqouise bling, and some string. The sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad AS says "You're special".

How to make this:
1. You'll need 2 square coasters, patterned paper, ink, a image/photo, circle-dies, a scalpel/knife, glue, brads, Crop-A-Dile, sandpaper and embellishments.
2. Front and back: Fasten patterned paper on the frontsides of both coasters. Distress and ink the edges.
3. Front: Punch out a circle in the middle of one of the coasters, distress and ink the edge.
4. Back: Fasten patterned paper on the circles backside, distress and ink the edge on both sides. Make a fold on top of the circle, and fasten it to the back-coaster with brads.
5. Fasten the coloured image to the inside of the back-coaster, and glue the two coasters together. The frame is now ready to be embellished.
NB! If you want to have a sentiment on the front of the frame, remember to stamp it before you glue the two parts together.
And if you want to have a photo in the frame, that can be taken out, just glue the bottom and the sides together.

Trinn for trinn forklaring:

For å komme helt igjennom, må man renskjære med skalpell. Puss kanten lett, og svert med blekk.

Thank you for visiting - have fun!

I've been working most of Christmas, and haven't got time for eighter blogging or cardmaking for weeks ;(
But now we're ready for our next challenge at Sketchy Colors, and I've finally got some time to make a card :)
For our Challenge #5 we have a new color challenge for you!! This time we want you to make a card in pink and yellow, with details of bronze/copper!

I've been dying to ink up some of my new stamps, and for this card, I decided to use one of the new adorable stamps from the Greeting Farm:

The image is coloured with Distress Ink refills, and the edges are inked with Distress ink - Antique Linen.
The sentiment on the front is from Norsk Stempelblad AS, and the one inside is from Stempelglede.
The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye's "Bella Bella" Collection.
For the embellishments I've used pearls and pink flowers from Kort & Godt, Cherry Blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts, Lilies and Charms from Unik Hobby, and ribbon from Frantic Stamper.

Now - head over to the Sketchy Color blog, to read about our Challenge #5, our new sponsor of January, and to take a look at the rest of the DT's great work this time :)
