Get ready for a looong post - and some looong pictures :)
My first GDT-contribution for
Unik Hobby is finally finished!
I've made a advent-calendar for my very best friend - the one and only;
Maya :)
I'm so exited to find out what she thinks about it!!
At first, I was supposed to make a christmastree-calendar, but that did'nt work out the way I wanted ;(
So I had to twist my head, and find something else to make...and after twisting and turning my already-mad- 24-calender-pieces, it suddenly struck me :)
Please exuse the bad pictures - the calender is 1 m long, and the day light now days really suck!
Click on the pics, and it'll make them bigger, so you can take a better look at the details :)
A diamond shaped, lanterne-like, hanging calendar!
The calendar is made out of 24 triangle shaped cornets, in 4 different sizes - glued together into 4 diamond shaped storeys. The diamonds are mounted together on a long peece of ribbon, with a image on the top (with a christmas carol on the back), and a snowflake at the bottom (with my signature on the back).
The idea to the triangle shaped cornets, did I find in a paperpad from K&Company - Paper Boxes.
All the materials I've used to make the calendar, can be bought at
Unik Hobby, and are marked with a link, to where it can be bought in the web-store!
All the patterned papers are from
Kaiser Craft - Dear Santa & Belle Collections, and are used together with 2 shades of red
Bazzill cardstock, 2 shades of green cardstock and 2 shades of beige cardstock.
The cute image from
Stampavie; Gillian Roberts' "Nativity", is masked together with a christmas carol stamp from
Stempelglede. All stamps are stamped with
Archival Ink - Coffee.
I've coloured the image with
Distress Ink Refills on 200 g Aquarellpaper, and mounted it on brown Bazzill cardstock. All the circles are punched out with
Spellbinders dies.
I've embellished "every" peece of the calendar with beautiful
roses and rosebuds, georgeous
charms and pretty
pearls (from Kort & Godt). The ivory coloured roses and the "cutie's" halo, have got some
golden glitter on too ;)
The numbers are cut out with QK Mademoiselle Alphabet, in brown Bazzill cardstock. They're painted with
Ranger Crackle Accents, and mounted on circles of patterned paper and beige Bazzill cardstock.
For the handles on the hatches, I've used some red satin string.
Both the top and the bottom of the ribbon, are embellished with pearls and spacers from my own stash.
Hope you like what you've seen?
♥ Thank you so much for visiting! ♥
Hugs, Lena Katrine
