Sketchy Color Challenge #1 & GDT Unik Hobby November #2

Finally the day has come, and we're proudly presenting our 1st Challenge at Sketchy Color ;)
We're starting out with a color challenge, and since today is the first Sunday in Advent, the main color we want you to use is...LILAC/PURPLE :)
Remember - you can make anything you want, just as long as the color lilac/purple is the main color in your project.

For this month, we're so lucky to have Moia Design with us, sponsoring the prices. Some of us in the DT, will also use Moia's stamps on the challenges in November/December.
I'm using my Moia-stamps later on, so I decided to make this project, as a second contribution to Unik Hobby :)
As before, I'm doing some web-shop linking in the text, to where you can buy the supplies I've used.
I came across a great idea in a blog (that I unfortunately dont remember) one night at work, and decided to make a book of gifttags!
Unluckily for me, I'm not a regular user of this color, so I actually did'nt own a single piece of lilac/purple patterned paper.
So I had to make my own: I stamped some snowflakes from Stempelglede with clear Watermark ink on 300 g Aquarellpaper, embossed it with clear UTEE, and sprayed it with a mixture of red and blue Glimmermist. When it was dry, I sprayed it again with Glimermist - Pearl, to make it shimmer a bit more :)
I supplemented it with green and white Bazzill cardstock.

The cute image from Stampavie; Gillian Robert's "Nativity", is stamped on 200 g Aquarellpaper, with Archival Ink - Coffee. I've colored it with Distress Ink Refills - this time in lilac, shaded around it with Distress Ink - Antique Linen, and put some glitter on the halo and wings.
The rest of the stamps are from Stempelglede, and are stamped with Archival Ink - Plum.
The edges on the panels are inked with ColorBox Fluid Chalk - Wisteria and Olive Pastel.
For decoration I've used a MS Snowflake punch, EK Suksess border punch, roses and rosebuds, Prima Mini Gypsos, pearls from Kort & Godt, georgeous silver charms, purple heartshaped pearls, purple and green ribbon, eyelets and silver tread.

The back with my signature stamp.

Insides; made out of white paperbags, dressed with cardstock and home-made patterned paper. The book is sewed together with silver tread.
The snowflakes are sprayed with Glimmermist - Pearl.
Stamped hearts and sentiments from Stempelglede, on ovale Spellbinders dies.

Tags inside the book; The shape is made by using a QK CC dies as a stensile.

Close-up of the lilac cutie-pie :)
Remember to stop by Unik Hobby's web-shop - lots and lots of goodies to be found there!

Now - head over to the Sketchy Color blog; to read more about the challenge and our sponsor, and to take a look at the rest of the DT's georgeous work this week!
You'll have until Saturday at 9 pm to enter the challenge ;)
Thank you for visiting! I wish you all a creative and fun sunday!
Hugs, Lena Katrine

GDT Unik Hobby November

Get ready for a looong post - and some looong pictures :)
My first GDT-contribution for Unik Hobby is finally finished!
I've made a advent-calendar for my very best friend - the one and only; Maya :)
I'm so exited to find out what she thinks about it!!

At first, I was supposed to make a christmastree-calendar, but that did'nt work out the way I wanted ;(
So I had to twist my head, and find something else to make...and after twisting and turning my already-mad- 24-calender-pieces, it suddenly struck me :)

Please exuse the bad pictures - the calender is 1 m long, and the day light now days really suck!
Click on the pics, and it'll make them bigger, so you can take a better look at the details :)

A diamond shaped, lanterne-like, hanging calendar!

The calendar is made out of 24 triangle shaped cornets, in 4 different sizes - glued together into 4 diamond shaped storeys. The diamonds are mounted together on a long peece of ribbon, with a image on the top (with a christmas carol on the back), and a snowflake at the bottom (with my signature on the back).
The idea to the triangle shaped cornets, did I find in a paperpad from K&Company - Paper Boxes.

All the materials I've used to make the calendar, can be bought at Unik Hobby, and are marked with a link, to where it can be bought in the web-store!

All the patterned papers are from Kaiser Craft - Dear Santa & Belle Collections, and are used together with 2 shades of red Bazzill cardstock, 2 shades of green cardstock and 2 shades of beige cardstock.

The cute image from Stampavie; Gillian Roberts' "Nativity", is masked together with a christmas carol stamp from Stempelglede. All stamps are stamped with Archival Ink - Coffee.
I've coloured the image with Distress Ink Refills on 200 g Aquarellpaper, and mounted it on brown Bazzill cardstock. All the circles are punched out with Spellbinders dies.
I've embellished "every" peece of the calendar with beautiful roses and rosebuds, georgeous charms and pretty pearls (from Kort & Godt). The ivory coloured roses and the "cutie's" halo, have got some golden glitter on too ;)

The numbers are cut out with QK Mademoiselle Alphabet, in brown Bazzill cardstock. They're painted with Ranger Crackle Accents, and mounted on circles of patterned paper and beige Bazzill cardstock.
For the handles on the hatches, I've used some red satin string.

On the bottom circle, I've stamped a beautiful snowflake from Stempelglede, and it's also embellished with a rose and some pearls.
Both the top and the bottom of the ribbon, are embellished with pearls and spacers from my own stash.

Hope you like what you've seen?

Now, head over to the Unik Hobby Web-store, to do some serious shopping :)

♥ Thank you so much for visiting! ♥

Hugs, Lena Katrine

AND some days ago, I was suppriced by reciving this amazingly georgeous KAOS-award from my best friend, and the truly magnificent paperartist; Maya!! She really brought a tear to my eye with this award - because of three reasons:
First - I was really suppriced by getting an award like this, that is so personal and meaningful!
Second - The award is simply creatively beautiful, in design, colours, image and embellies!
Third - The personal words on the back, hit my heart so deep, that I will keep it as a treasure always!
Thank you so much, my dear friend!

Is'nt this just adorably beautiful??

I'll be back later, with my KAOS-awards, and who's gonna get them ;)

I wish you all a beautful day! ♥
